About this painting
Originally entitled 'Expending Energy Into The Void', this is a painting of loneliness, or perhaps a curious spiritual peace. A mountain-like figure reclines in darkness, yet expels a glowing mist, a heaven of a new world. There is a theme of dandelions too, the seeds blown to the wind can be a symbol of loss, yet here we have new growth too. The sun, whether setting or rising, is part dandelion too, thus there is a death-rebirth duality in the image.
