The Canadian Lake

Down into the frozen black.
Forth and back.
In and heave.
Pulling the water to push the boat.

Cut through ice,
and liquid air.
Slicing though the space around.
Heading for the island
in the lake of silend sound.

Hands stiff.
Breath tumbles like Chinese acrobats.
Snow on the eyebrows.
A sun behind clouds, cries for help in it's weakness.

Down into the frozen black.
Forth and back.
In and heave.
Pulling the water to push the boat.
