Remembering Summer

Clouds in the sky
cause a grey brown rain,
glistening like ice on the skin.
The man cold, his eyes like clay
sight a long passed day.
Statues of maidens flank left and right.

Brown spintered floor boards
in ageing decay,
thick with dust,
and new-born rust.
The water falls like cascading dreams.
He pictures a summer field,
and skies far away.
