Influenza

Sweating,
shivering in fits.
Boiling,
then freezing.
Head feels like a balloon of blood.
Pray to doctor if he could,
assist.

Cannot.
That's my lot.
Flu, I've got.
Gastric flu.
Guts in flux.
Quivering, like jelly filled with nuts.

Close my eyes,
see spirals there.
Head's a waltzing,
round and rare.
Rare and round,
The race won't stop.
My face feels like it's going to pop.

Sniff,
lie back.
Shiver,
and sweat.

Three A.M.
Will I see the sun again?
Will my bits explode tonight?
Ache, my chest.
For God's sake; rest!

Don't worry.
Relax.

Best,
sleep.

Sleep.
