The Place Where I Grew Up

I remember seeing there a little child I knew.
I remember living in that place.

I remember playing there
but can't recall the game
or why I cared to run around at all.

I remember how I liked
to climb a frame or climb a wall
that looked just like a fortress
to my tiny tired eyes.

I remember thinking lies were bad.
I remember happiness I had.

I remember people there,
the friends I had at school
but have a time remembering each face
but I remember seeing there a little child I knew
and I remember living in that place.
