Death Bed

The sound of the cars
and the cold of the white sky.
Hot food by the sea side
and the sand in my hair.
The light of the dawn
and the birds as they greet it,
and the dust of a dry day,
and the neon in rain.

Could it be
that I'll miss those things?
I'll miss those things...

The listless submission
of a dream in a soft bed.
The distance of hills
in a wilderness fog.
The sun rays in dust.
The salt of the ocean.
Brown toast in the morning
and the softness of silk.

Could it be
that I'll miss those things?
I'll miss those things...

The rush of a fall.
The embrace of the moment.
The power and pride
and the passion of life.
The flicker of childhood.
The fire of the future.
The darkness, the brightness
and everything else.

Could it be
that I'll miss those things?
I'll miss those things...
