About This Album
The End And The Beginning is my first album of pop songs. Recorded over a two year period, 2007 to 2009, and featuring vocals by the brilliant Tor James Faulkner. The project was ambitious. My backing tracks were sent to Tor for his vocal recordings which were sent back for me to assemble in Cheshire.
The End And The Beginning is a concept album with music in a 1980s new-romantic style, about a man who enter a comatose state in 1985, awakening years later to a confusing future of strangers and robots. The influences on these songs are many and varied, but there are definite shades of the Electric Light Orchestra, Ultravox, with some Pink Floyd, and even Kate Bush. My youthful voice of 2009 provided the vocals on the tracks 'A.I.' and 'Coma'. In 2025 the album was remixed and remastered in high resolution, with separate versions of the album optimised for CD (where tracks blend into each other) and stream versions of individual tracks. |
