About this painting
The first work in a group of five about the coldness of conceptual art, here defined as art that is intellectual rather than emotional.
The intellect, understanding, dulls emotions, which can have upsides and downsides, but in art, emotion is key, and the trend for conceptual art is a trend to coldness. Good art should contain elements of mystery, and even this is no exception. The painting was developed as a series of five paintings that form a line, a striving, reaching for a new path. A small written piece entitled Emotional Messages in the Essays section explores the themes in this work. |
