About this painting
Developed in tandem with Self Portrait As Dreamer, my primary inspiration for this was to paint a portrait. The meaning is different here as shapes in the brown "sky" evolved automatically as I painted them. The picture is about the dream of something lost, a bird flown.

Inside the dream world the sleeper is now gaseous. A solitary lighthouse is present, but the mind is too, shining out and lighting a new unconscious horizon. Cracked shapes cover the upper area, memories of the bird visible in the distant sky.
